Ed Orgeron Named Semi-Finalist For National Coach Of The Year Award

LSU head football coach Ed Orgeron is being named a semi-finalist for the 2019 George Munger Collegiate Coach of the Year Award.

The Maxwell Football Club announced the list of semi-finalists yesterday with Orgeron joining 21 other coaches, along with SEC rivals Kirby Smart of Georgia and Dan Mullen of Florida.

First awarded in 1989 and named for College Football Hall of Famer George Munger, no LSU coach has won the award.

Orgeron is in his fourth year at LSU where he is 35-9, including a 10-0 record this year and a number one ranking.
