Louisiana State long snapper Blake Ferguson is being named a semi-finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy which recognizes a student-athlete's academic success and community service.
Often called the Academic Heisman, the Campbell Trophy has been awarded since 1990 and is given to one player across all levels of collegiate football.
Ferguson studies Business Administration at LSU and has worked tirelessly with the American Diabetes Association.
If chosen, Ferguson would become the second LSU player to win the Campbell Trophy following center Rudy Niswanger who won it in 2005.
