A group of NFL referees once again made a glaring error in a game played by the New Orleans Saints.
At the end of the first half, the officiating crew reset the game clock incorrectly, taking about 15 seconds away from the Saints as they were trying to drive for a field goal before halftime.
With 48-seconds left on the clock, Michael Thomas made a leaping grab for a first down that the refs incorrectly marked as fourth-and-one, then failed to reset the clock to 42-seconds on review before a ten-second runoff.
Instead of potential better field position, the Saints had to settle for a 56-yard field goal attempt which was unsuccessful.
