New Orleans Saints cornerback P.J. Williams has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of reckless operation of a motor vehicle stemming from a January traffic stop in which he was accused of driving while drunk.
Williams was ordered to pay a $340 fine after pleading guilty to the lesser charge.
The resolution of the case means the 26-year-old will not be dealing with any legal charges when the Saints kick off their 2019 regular season September 9th. However, the National Football League might still discipline him through its personal conduct policy.
Williams has been a regular on New Orleans' defense the past two years and is expected to have a similar role in the upcoming season.
