Ben Watson Reverses On Retirement

Detroit Lions v New Orleans Saints

The New England Patriots are bringing back veteran tight end Benjamin Watson to fill a void at the position.

ESPN reports the Pats are expected to sign Watson to a one-year deal worth up to $3 million. Watson, who previously announced in December he was retiring from football, returns to New England where he spent his first six seasons. The 38-year-old has also played with the Browns, Saints and Ravens and has 44 career touchdown catches.

Watson becomes the most experienced tight end on the Pats roster following the retirement of Rob Gronkowski in March.
