Former First Lady Michelle Obama will present the ESPYS highest honor to the memory of the woman who founded the Special Olympics.  Obama will present the ESPYS Arthur Ashe Courage Award to honor the late Eunice Kennedy Shriver on Wednesday.  

The sister of the late President John F. Kennedy founded the Special Olympics in 1968 in Chicago.  Today, the Special Olympics are a year round event involving more than 5,000,000 athletes in over 170 countries.  Shriver was a longtime advocate for disabled people.  She died in 2009.  Special Olympics Chairman Timothy Shriver will accept the award on behalf of his mother.
